AFTER FIFTY YEARS
MR. AND MRS. GEORGE YULE CELEBRATED GOLDEN WEDDING.
SOCIAL YEAR STARTS WELL
A Large Number of Pleasant Gatherings Mark the Opening of the New Year in the Social World.
Mr. And Mrs. George YULE celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage on Saturday I evening in a very magnificent manner. The entire interior of the house was decorated in holiday colors, red and green and each part of the house was conspicuous for some part of the decoration. The old bride and groom received their guests in the west parlor, while Mrs. A. Yule and Mrs. William Yule welcomed them in the dining room.
Mrs. Yule wore an elegant frock of black brocade silk ornamented with duchess lace and diamonds.
No wedding ceremony was performed, as the knot tied fifty years ago seemed amply sufficient for all present needs. More than one hundred guests were present, consisting mostly of the older residents of the city, with a mingling of friends of later years. At 7 o'clock supper was served in the dining room, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion, the tables in yellow and bride's roses symbolical of the occasions. At the tables, where an elegant repast was served by Kupfer, Mrs. William Yule, of Milwaukee, and Mrs. George A. Yule, of this city presided.
After supper the guests spent the evening in conversation. An orchestra hidden away among a mass of flowers on the stairway, discoursed sweet music during the evening. Although it was expressed in the invitations that there be no presents, Mr. And Mrs. Yule received many beautiful remembrances of the day, among them being a bunch of fifty American Beauty roses.
As the guests retired, wishing Mr. And Mrs. Yule many more happy anniversaries, each one was presented with a golden box, in which was a piece of wedding cake for a souvenir of the occasion.
Among those present were Messrs. and Mesdames Quarles, Corey, Thompson, Roblee, Kimball, Strong, Chas. W. Allen, Fisher, Cavanagh, Dewey, Saunders, Farr, Ripley, Pennoyer, Frost, Hale, Calkins, Van Ingen, Grant, Redeker, Brown, Fred Gottfredsen, R.O. Gottfredsen. Mesdames O.S. Newell, King, Burr, Martin, M.H. Pettit, O.M. Pettit, Ezra Simmons; Misses Brown and Weeks; Messrs. Frank Slosson, Z. G. Simmons, Jason Lothrop.
Among the out of town guests were about thirty relatives from Racine and Milwaukee.

FORTY-THREE YEARS MARRIED
The home of John T. YULE on Park Avenue, was the scene of a pretty gathering Monday evening, when a number of Scotch friends dropped in to help Mr. And Mrs. Yule celebrate their forty-third wedding anniversary. Dinner was served promptly at seven o'clock when guests seated themselves at a long row of tables, tastily decorated and laden with all the bounties that could possibly tempt the appetite. After the repast, tables were set for whist, which held the attention of all until a late hour. Host and hostess Yule, through advanced somewhat in years, are young in spirit and insisted that no guest depart before the wee sma hours of the morning. The Victrola was brought into activity and kept everyone interested until morning appeared. During the evening Host Yule addressing Mr. Anderson as chief of the clans, presented him with a painting symbolic of his position. Mr. and Mrs. Yule were the recipients of many floral offerings from their friends who look forwards to meeting with them seven years hence for the fiftieth anniversary.
